1st International FungiNet Symposium and 49th Annual Meeting of the DMykG

The 1st International Symposium of the CRC/Transregio FungiNet took place from September 16th-19th, 2015 in Jena. The symposium was held together with the 49th Scientific Conference of the German-speaking Mycological Society (DmykG). With 320 participants, 12 FungiNet sessions and five keynote lectures given by internationally recognised, outstanding researchers the joint meeting was a great success. Apart from the different facettes of host fungus interaction the sessions of the symposium focussed on systems biology of fungi and imaging of fungal infection. Alltogether the symposium provided a great platform to discuss cutting edge research results and ideas with international researchers also to foster new and fruitfull collaborations. The three poster prizes of the CRC/TR FungiNet were presented by Prof. Axel Brakhage, the speaker of FungiNet, to Irene Hampe (Würzburg), Sarah Höffs (Jena) und Susann Pohlers (Jena).
