Report: Gordon Research Conference (GRC)

Natraj Kalleda, FungiNet PhD student (Project A3) presented his recent findings as a poster at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC): Immunology of fungal infections, Galveston, TX, USA. In his recent work he was able to show that myeloid cells act as major host defenses against Aspergillus fumigatus lung infections in different immunocompromised conditions. This particular conference was a prestigious international platform for fungal immunologists. Natraj got a very nice feedback for his poster; he also learned how to proceed further with his project. Finally, Natraj would like to mention that it is very useful to attend GRC conferences, because researchers are highly encouraged to share unpublished results, which is not true for other conferences.
